48-Hour Camping Checklist (Tech & Outdoor Essentials)
For a 48-hour trip pack a 20,000 mAh 60 W PD power bank, a headlamp with at least 300 lumens plus spare batteries, portable water filter or tablets, a folding stove with an extra canister, and keep electronics in dry bags. Add a 2-3L water bladder, spare lighter/matches, and a multi-tip charging cable.
Layering keeps you comfortable: moisture wicking base, fleece mid layer, and a breathable waterproof shell. Download offline maps, bring trash-out bags, and add spare socks and gloves based on the forecast. Your first-aid kit should cover bandages, antiseptic wipes, painkillers, and antihistamines; pick calorie-dense foods that don’t need cooling like nuts, bars, and shelf-stable meals.
Keep the campsite clean to avoid wildlife encounters and stash scented food away from the tent in sealed bags. Check local fire rules—use a stove if open fires are restricted. Have an exit plan for bad weather, and carry a compass or barometric device where phone signal is spotty.
