Ultrabook Buying Priorities: Battery, Display, Connectivity
Modern ultrabooks shine with 14-inch 16:10 IPS or OLED panels, at least 400 nits of brightness, and full sRGB or DCI-P3 coverage. A battery above 70 Wh, sub-1.3 kg weight, and a 65 W USB-C PD charger make travel much easier. Aim for thermal profiles that keep quiet mode around 30-35 dB and performance mode under the low 40s.
On connectivity, look for dual USB-C (Thunderbolt or USB4), full-size HDMI 2.1, and a Wi-Fi 6E card for longevity. Check whether RAM is soldered and if there is a single or dual M.2 slot; an IR webcam and a physical shutter add security. Keyboards with 1.3-1.5 mm travel and warm backlighting feel better, while 1080p+ webcams and dual mics make calls clearer.
